TWO SC JUSTICES DENY INVOLVEMENT IN OUSTER PLOT VS. PRES. DUTERTE
Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio and Associate Justice Marvic Leonen denied their involvement in an alleged ouster plot against President Rodrigo Duterte.
This, as they laughed off their inclusion in a now-deleted Facebook post by Davao City Vice Mayor and presidential son Paolo Duterte.
In an interview, Carpio, who has been a critic of the government’s supposed weak stance on the disputed waters in the West Philippine Sea, described it as a “joke” saying he had no idea where such insinuation came from.
Leonen, meanwhile, also treated it as a joke and posted a witty reaction on Twitter.
Among those linked in the supposed ouster plot called “Oust Duterte Movement”, include politicians, former Cabinet members, civil society leaders, companies and bishops.
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana earlier dismissed the alleged ouster plot as “fake news.”
