BOC CHIEF LAPEÑA URGED TO CONDUCT LIFESTYLE CHECK ON CUSTOMS OFFICIALS
A group calling themselves the “real concerned Bureau of Customs (BOC) employees” has urged BOC Commissioner Isidro Lapeña to conduct a lifestyle check on the agency’s officials and personnel.
In a one-page letter on Friday, the group asked Lapeña to look into the Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) of the BOC officials.
The group identified Jimmy Guban, a Customs intelligence officer who was detained after he was cited in contempt for supposedly lying under oath during the Senate inquiry into the P6.8-billion shabu shipment that allegedly slipped past the BOC.
Moreover, the group said that lawyer Lourdes Mangaoang, assigned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), was the source of information on the drug shipment.
As seen in their Facebook accounts, the group added, Guban and Mangaoang allegedly own luxury cars, live in impressive houses and often travel with their relatives and friends.
