Five members of a gun-for hire group operating in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Metro Manila and Cagayan Valley have been nabbed by Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group in separate operations in Northern and Central Luzon.
The group was known to be led by a certain Ricardo Peralta who is the subject of several warrants of arrest for multiple murder, kidnapping, carnapping, highway robbery and brigandage.
PNP Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde refused to divulge the details of the politicians said to be using the service of such private armed group but assured that they have intelligence information and monitoring to ensure the arrest of the whole group.
According to Albayalde, the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) has offered P5 million reward for the information leading to the arrest of Peralta.
The country’s top cop reminded, they are intensifying operations against these private armed groups to ensure peaceful and orderly elections in May 2019.
