SENATE APPROVES BILL DECLARING JAN. 17 HOLIDAY IN OLONGAPO, SUBIC
Jan. 17 is a few steps away from being declared as holiday in Olongapo City and Subic Bay Freeport Zone after it has hurdled the third and final reading at the Senate.
Should it be signed into law, it will be called “James Leonard Tagle Gordon Day”.
This is to commemorate the life and contributions of the city's first elected mayor.
In 2018, the Senate adopted a joint Congressional resolution declaring every Jan. 17 as James Leonard Tagle Gordon Day in commemoration of his 101st birth anniversary.
